In an effort to support our customers we decided to create tutorial video demonstrations of the SiteSteam CMS. These video's will be hosted on the DoctorDemo.com website and the site will be featured in all of the video's as the demonstration site. Users are encouraged to email support with questions and comments so we can continue to improve customer support.

SiteSteam v2.0 released!!

.: 4/20/06 :.Web Content Management

SiteSteam v2.0 beta improvements updated. We gave the settings screen a new look that enhances the desktop application feel to SiteSteam. The cascading style sheet has been integrated into the database and is no longer sitting in the file system. This makes editing the CSS settings within sitesteam easier and page generation faster. The form builder has also been improved and updated to include more text and option boxes for email forms.

Another SEO (and browser) friendly option has been added to SiteSteam. We have created a dynamically generated SiteMap Page Part. As a Page Part it can be added to any page in SiteSteam but usually most sites will create a seperate page called sitemap. Check out the Sitesteam.com SiteMap here.

The page can also be used in the google sitemap program where you can submit your sitemap for google's index to crawl properly. Options include XML and HTML generated sitemaps. Here's a free java site crawler that will generate an XML sitemap for you.

With the increase in search engine optimization services, we have started adding features that are SEO friendly to SiteSteam. Pages are generated dynamically from the database and html is created and submitted to the user. We have included a keyword and description field to each page for optimizers to modify some of the html code details not visible to the casual browser.

The table editor has also been improved and is much more flexible. We continue to add features to this tool because it is widely used and many times webmasters need to fine tune settings within the html that are not normally available in the GUI.

Logging has been ported to the user interface via the administrative settings section. This allows the administrator to monitor logs and delete old or redundant records when necessary. The logging is stored in logical text which helps with readability but increases the DB space required. Plans going forward are geared toward segmenting the logging options and coding records so different roles will have read access to their own or specific records.
